
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – University of Technology and Education, Danang – holds the "CNC Control, Programming, and Simulation" workshop and receives CNC controllers donated by QS Technology
As part of a series of science and technology activities celebrating 60 years of building and developing the University of Technology and Education – University of Danang, on May 27, 2022 the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering held a workshop themed "CNC Control, Programming, and Simulation". Attending on behalf of the university were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Cao Tho – Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Trung Hung – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Qui Tra – Head of the Office of Science Management and International Cooperation; MSc. Ngo Tan Thong – Head of the Facilities Office; Dr. Ho Tran Anh Ngoc – Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; along with the faculty's lecturers and students.
Business attendees included Mr. Dinh Duy Niem, Director of MECCOM Co., Ltd; Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong – Director of Nguyen Thinh Industrial and Civil Construction Mechanical Co., Ltd; Mr. Pham Truong Giang – Director of Central Vietnam Industrial Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd; Mr. Phan Ngoc Anh – representing the leadership of Igus Vietnam Co., Ltd; Mr. To Tan Trung Dung – Director of Chau Da Co., Ltd; and Mr. Tran Hoang Giang – representing QS Technology, a company specializing in building controllers for CNC machines from 3 to 8 axes, with products distributed in over 20 countries worldwide. Drawing on that experience, Mr. Tran Hoang Giang presented a report titled "Applying CNC controllers in manufacturing and in education" with ideas to raise the quality of CNC technology teaching at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
To close the workshop, Mr. Tran Hoang Giang – representative of QS Technology – donated to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering two simulation controllers for 3-axis CNC machines, drivers, and programming software built in-house by the company to serve teaching in related majors at the faculty. The donated equipment was worth 100 million VND in total.
