Product introduction

S3100A/E series is an upgraded version of the S3100 series inverter. The original high hardware configuration remains unchanged, the operation mode is adjusted to real usage habits, and the driver performance together with the bottom and application software layers are improved.

S3100A/E is an enhanced current vector control general-purpose inverter supporting both asynchronous and permanent magnet synchronous motors. The application is more flexible and the performance is more stable, so it suits applications with high requirements for speed control accuracy, torque response speed and low-frequency output characteristics.

Motor control

  • Supports asynchronous motor and permanent magnet synchronous motor control.
  • Maximum starting torque 200 % at 0.5 Hz, speed accuracy 0.1 %.
  • Latest permanent magnet synchronization vector algorithm — no reversal when starting.
  • Upgraded DSP main chip: sensorless vector control (SVC), V/f control, V/f separation control and torque control.

Frequency and functions

  • High-frequency output up to 3200 Hz.
  • Simple PLC and built-in swing frequency function.
  • Main and auxiliary frequency superposition control.
  • The multi-function terminal includes 1 high-speed pulse input and 1 high-speed pulse output.

  • 2T series 4.0 kW and 4T series 5.5 kW and below are equipped with a built-in charging resistor overheating protection unit.
  • External input terminals can select NPN or PNP mode to connect neatly with an external PLC and touch screen.

Common DC bus

  • All power ranges support the common DC bus application, sharing energy between drives to reduce braking-resistor power or remove the brake resistor altogether.

  • Overload capacity 150 % for 60 seconds for the G type and 120 % for 60 seconds for the P type.
  • Maximum starting torque (SVC) is 200 % at 0.5 Hz and the speed accuracy is 0.1 %.
  • The latest vector algorithm for permanent magnet synchronization does not reverse when starting.
  • 3-point V/f curve setting, 6 sets of V/f curve setting, V/f separation control.
  • Instant stop function, speed tracking function, effective brake suppression function.

Fast current limiting

The fast current limiting function avoids frequent over-current alarms. When the current exceeds the current protection point, it limits the current back within the protection point quickly, protecting the device and avoiding over-current alarms caused by sudden load changes or interference.

Swing frequency operation diagram

Chemical fiber and other industries needing traverse winding use the swing frequency function to make the forming spindle flat, with no drum.

Torque characteristics

Powerful current vector control and high starting torque: it runs under block conditions with no speed sensor. Under 0.5 Hz the rated output torque is 200 %; sensorless vector control reduces sensitivity to motor parameters and improves field adaptability.

Instantaneous power failure without stopping

In case of an instantaneous power failure or sudden voltage drop the inverter does not stop: it reduces the output speed and the load feeds energy back to compensate the voltage drop, keeping the inverter running for a short time.
