The WP-600 is a five-direction tool setter and edge finder for CNC machines, triggering on ±X, ±Y and +Z. It states 0.001 mm repeatability, carries an LED status light and runs on 24 VDC — suited to tool setting, edge finding and workpiece zero setting.

When the tool touches the contact surface from above, the WP-600 raises a signal for the control to record the Z-axis position. That value can be used to work out tool length, set the tool offset, or refresh the reference position after a tool change.
Triggering on four horizontal directions lets the unit find edges, locate surfaces and help establish the workpiece coordinate system. This is the key difference between the WP-600 and an ordinary single-direction tool setter.
Permissible deflection on X–Y and travel on Z reduce the risk of immediate damage when an approach overshoots the trigger point within the designed limits. Even so, the probing program still needs a sensible approach speed and safe travel limits.

The WP-600 works on mechanical contact. When the tool or the surface being measured presses on the contact tip, the mechanism inside changes the signal state. The CNC control reads that signal and records the coordinate at the moment of triggering.
Depending on the program in use, the recorded coordinate can serve to:
Work out tool length or tool offset.
Set the tool zero on the Z axis.
Locate the left, right, front or rear edge of the workpiece.
Calculate the part centre after probing two opposite edges.
Verify the reference position before machining starts.
